Digital Portrait Illustration & Album Branding
Lana Del Rey is an alternative musician who draws inspiration from various historical icons. As a tribute to Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s impact on her music and style, a digital portrait of Lana was rendered and used as part of a conceptual EP titled ‘Presley’. An original black and white film photograph was incorporated into an album cover design for 'Presley', presented in both digital and analog formats.

PROCESS
Using an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and the Procreate app, the illustration began with a reference photo and sketch, slowly coming together layer after layer with color-blocking, blending, and iterative detailing.
PROGRESS
This project was originally completed in 2016 using Adobe Photoshop and a desktop drawing tablet. Four years later, the illustration was recreated from scratch using the method outlined above.
